Editorial Policy
Last updated: May 28, 2026
Utills is an independent publication. This policy explains how our guides are made and the standards we hold ourselves to.
Original, tested content
Every guide is written in-house from hands-on testing. We don't paraphrase or republish other sites' articles. When we describe a method — merging a PDF, compressing an image, converting a file — we have run those steps ourselves on the platforms we mention.
Authorship
Guides are bylined so you know who wrote them. You can read about the author on the author page. We believe knowing who stands behind a guide is part of what makes it trustworthy.
Accuracy and sources
Where a guide states a fact that isn't obvious from testing, we link to a reputable primary source. Tools and operating systems change, so we revisit popular guides and update the "last updated" date when steps change.
Advertising independence
The site is supported by advertising, but ads and sponsorships never determine what we recommend. We point readers to the genuinely best option for a task — including free and offline tools — even when that option earns us nothing. See our privacy policy for how advertising data is handled.
Use of AI
We may use software, including AI assistants, to help with research, drafting, or code. Every published guide is reviewed and verified by a human, and the final responsibility for accuracy is ours.
Corrections
If you spot an error, email hello@utills.in with a link to the page. We correct confirmed mistakes promptly and, for significant changes, note them on the page.
